  • Select the bell to see your notifications. If there is a red dot on the bell that means you have new notifications. It is important to check your notifications. This is where you will be notified of completed tasks, shared property, warranty expirations, and account maintenance items.

  • You can enter any property type first. If you enter a Vehicle first and then enter a Real Estate, you can always edit the vehicle information to connect it to the Real Estate property.

Properties belong to one of four main categories - Real Estate, Vehicles, Equipment or Belongings. You can filter in the home screen to show only the properties in each category.

Within the Real Estate category, you can enter your property improvements under Updates/Upgrades, Exterior Improvements, Renovations/Additions and Additional Structures. You can also enter Tasks (maintenance) associated with the property.

Within the Vehicle/Equipment or Belongings categories you can enter your property improvements under Maintenance/Updates. You can associate these properties with a Real Estate property.

Tip: Before entering properties, you may want to create photo albums or folders on your device for each property to assist in easy uploading.

  • You should always enter Real Estate under the Real Estate category. You can classify items such as a golf cart, camper or boat in the Vehicle, Equipment or Belongings Category. Whatever makes the most sense to you.

  • You can filter by category by clicking on one of the 4 icons on the home screen under “Property Type.” You can also search for a word that is in the property name using the search bar directly above.

  • You can edit any property or improvement you entered and update the information and add or delete photos. Simply select the property and click on “Edit” to the right of the property Name. For improvements, click on the pencil icon to the right of the improvement name.

  • Acquired Price for a real estate property is the amount you paid for the property or what it was appraised for when you inherited it. Since real estate values change frequently, it is best to consult your real estate agent when you are determining your property’s current value for sale or transfer.

Vehicles, Equipment and Belongings have fields for you to enter Cost and Value. Cost is what you paid for the item. Value is what the property is currently worth. These fields can be particularly helpful for insurance purposes.

  • Information about cost or acquired price can be beneficial to you when you need to determine your home or property’s cost basis for taxes or if you need to file an insurance claim. Mortgage and insurance paperwork is often misplaced as is the contact information of your agents. The HPH app and the reports it generates are an easy and convenient way to store and access all of this information so you always have it at your fingertips. The amount of information you put into the account is strictly up to you and what you feel is helpful.

  • To see what Vehicles, Equipment and Belongings are associated with a particular Real Estate property, first choose the Real Estate property on the home screen. (you can filter just your real estate properties by choosing the Door icon on the home screen.) Once in the summary screen for the real estate property, choose one of the grid boxes labeled Vehicle, Equipment or Belongings. You will see a list of those property types associated with the selected Real Estate property. From this same screen, you can also choose a different Real Estate property using the drop down box.

  • Each category has an “Upload Photos & Videos” or a “Choose Files or Photos” section. Here you can take a photo or video or choose from your library or files. You can access your files on your device or through Google Drive, Dropbox or whatever platform you allow your device to connect to.

  • Include photos/videos of both the exterior and interior of your properties.

Tip: Update information and photos/videos periodically for accurate records and for insurance purposes.

  • You can rearrange your photos/videos by pressing and holding the photo/video and moving it to the left or right. The first photo will be used as the main preview photo for the property.

  • Select the real estate property and scroll down to see the boxes at the bottom of the property screen. Depending on how you categorized the project (Update/Upgrade, Exterior Improvement, Renovations/Additions or Additional Structures) you can select the box and see a list of your improvements.

Tip: On that same screen, you can change the property in the drop-down box at the top to see the list of improvements for that property.

Using the Task List

  • The task list is for maintenance items that you need performed on any of your properties.

For Real Estate, you can create your own or use one of our pre-populated lists of common maintenance items that can be scheduled to maintain your property. For Vehicles, Equipment and Belongings, you can create a custom list.

You can categorize these tasks by Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter or Winterization, or you can create a completely customized list. You can choose the frequency of the task, set reminders, sync the task to your Google Calendar and assign the task to yourself or someone else. Once you or the person you assigned the task to completes the task it will be added to your completed list. If the task was assigned, you have the option of accepting or declining the completion of the task. By completing the tasks you build a Maintenance Report for your property that you can download and share with others.

  • An important feature of the task list is the ability to assign the task to another person. You can assign the task to someone who has purchased the app or to someone who is going to use the app only for receiving and completing tasks assigned to them from others. When you assign the task, the Assignee receives an email and an in-app notification alerting them to the new task. They are then able to accept the task, which puts the task on their Active Task list. It provides them with the task name, details you entered and due date of the task.

Once the Assignee completes the task, you will receive a notification (the bell icon). You have the option of acceptingor declining the completion of the task. If you choose to Accept the task completion the task moves to your Completed Task list. If you choose Decline, the task remains in your Active Task list and the Assignee is notified that you declined it. You may want to follow up separately with the Assignee to provide additional instructions about what was not done to your satisfaction.

  • There is a slide button when entering each task that you can choose if you want to sync with Google calendar.

  • You can navigate to your active task list by using the second icon at the bottom of the home screen. Here you can view your tasks in either list format or calendar format by selecting the icon next to the “Add New Task” at the bottom of the screen. You can also use various filters using the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines in the upper right of the screen). From this menu, you can filter your views by property or by list (Spring/Summer, Fall/Winter, Winterization or Custom). You can also adjust your format (List, Week, Month or Year).

Tip: Only properties with tasks will show on the list.

  • You can view all completed tasks by clicking on the Completed Tasks tab to the right of the Active Tasks tab.

  • You can edit a task by choosing the pencil to the right of the task name in the list. Note that not all fields are editable. If the field you need to change is not editable, you will have to delete the task and create a new one to modify the information.

Sharing a Property

  • The share feature allows you to share property details with another app user (Hub Member). This can be helpful if you sell a property and want to share important information such as improvements, warranties and past maintenance records. You may also want to share information with a family member or someone who helps you take care of the property.

The Share feature has an option if you do not want to share sensitive personal information. For example, if you sell a Property and want to share Improvements, warranties, and past maintenance records, you can choose not to share sensitive personal information, which will prevent the recipient from receiving pictures and financial information such as your acquired price, mortgage and loan information, and insurance details.

  • Select the property you want to share from the home screen. On the main property screen scroll down to “Share/Dispose.” If you share a real estate property, you can choose to also share any, all or none of the associated vehicles, equipment and belongings. An email and in-app notification will be sent to the recipient notifying them of the Share. If the recipient does not have the app, they will be instructed to download and purchase it. In the in-app notification (bell icon), the recipient will be prompted to either “Accept”, “Replace” or “Decline” the shared property. Accepting the share will create an additional copy of the property in their account, “Replace” will override the existing copy.

Tip: See other FAQs here for additional info on what information is shared.

  • Sharing a property creates a copy of the property for the recipient. The recipient will be able to make changes to the property details within their own account without affecting your account. Similarly, changes you make after the share do not affect the recipient’s copy. If you make subsequent changes and want to share to the same recipient again, the notification the recipient receives will allow them to either Accept (create an additional copy) or Replace (replace the old copy with the new one).

  • When you share a property none of your personal profile information is sent to the recipient. Only the property information is shared. You have the option of sharing all information or omitting sensitive information when you share a property. During the Share process, you will be prompted with a box with the description, “Do not share sensitive information related to this property, including financial details and photos.”

    • CHECK THE BOX if you are sharing property data as a result of the sale of the property or you simply do not want to share sensitive information. If you check the box, the following details will not be shared: Photos, Owner on Record, % Owned, Date Acquired, Acquired Price, Cost, Value, any Loan/Mortgage information and any Insurance information.

    • DO NOT CHECK THE BOX if you want to share ALL DATA, which will include photos and personal information. This may be appropriate for sharing with a family member, trusted advisor or caretaker. If you want to share photos, but not private information like the purchase price, remove the private information and do not check the box.

Delete or Dispose of Property or Account Data

  • When you have sold or disposed of a property and no longer want to keep the data in the app, you can delete the property and free up capacity to add other properties. Select the property you want to delete from the home screen. On the main property screen scroll down to “Share/Dispose.” If you dispose of a real estate property, you can choose to also dispose of any, all or none of the associated vehicles, equipment, and belongings at the same time.

  • When you delete or dispose of a property, all data from that property is deleted. Home Property Hub cannot restore your data if you accidentally dispose of it. This is why we ask you to confirm that you want to dispose of it before it is permanently deleted.

  • As soon as you delete or dispose of a property, that reduces the number of properties you have in your account allowing you to add a new property if you were previously at your limit for that property type.

  • If you want to delete all of the data you have entered (profile and property data), go to Account Settings/Manage Subscription. Please note that this will delete all profile and property data and cancel your account. Home Property Hub cannot restore your data if you accidentally delete your account. This is why we ask you to confirm that you want to delete your account before it is permanently deleted.

Create Property Reports

  • Choose the fourth icon on the bottom of the home screen. Once in the Generate Report screen, select all the properties you want included in your report, the report type, and one or more emails to receive the PDF report.

  • You and/or a recipient will receive an email to the email address(es) you indicated in the Report Generation request. If you and/or your recipient do not see the email within a few minutes, please check your spam or junk folder. You should also check to see that you input the correct email address(es).

  • The HPH app offers three types of reports:

    • Homeowner: This report is intended for your personal use. It includes all details and photos on all of your properties and improvements. Tip: There is one photo included with the details for each property and improvement. Additional photos are included at the end of the report. If you choose to print the report, you can choose the pages you want to print.

    • Advisor: This report is helpful for providing information to real estate agents, insurance brokers or financial advisors. The report includes all photos and details on the properties but excludes personal information regarding your mortgage, loans, lenders, insurance and warranties.

    • Maintenance Record: This report is helpful to keep track of the Maintenance/Updates and Completed Tasks for your properties. This information will be useful when selling or trying to value a property.
